The Four Seasons of Vivaldi and Piazzolla to be Performed at MBL Summer Concert, July 20

MBL, WOODS HOLE, MA—Tickets are now on sale for the MBL Summer Concert featuring Curtis On Tour, a program of the Philadelphia-based .  The concert will be held on Sunday, July 20 at 7:00 PM in the Lillie Auditorium, 7 MBL Street, Woods Hole. The concert is made possible by a generous gift from Pat Gage and Irina Wilson Gage.

Curtis On Tour brings the extraordinary artistry of the world-renowned Curtis Institute of Music to audiences worldwide, with tomorrow’s leading musicians performing alongside celebrated alumni and faculty.

The ǧƵ performance will feature a string chamber orchestra performing Antonio Vivaldi’s iconic The Four Seasons paired with Ástor Piazzolla’s Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas (The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires). For these four tango works by Piazzolla, current students Jung Min Choi, Nadir Khashimov, Ye-Rang Kim, and Marié Rossano will be joined by Curtis alumna violinist Elissa Lee Koljonen.

The concert will be followed by a champagne and dessert reception. Tickets for the concert and reception are sold separately. Concert tickets range from $20 to $150 and are available in advance at mbl.edu/concert or by calling 508-289-7423.  Tickets will also be available at the door or until sold out.  Dessert reception tickets $100 each and will be available until 5:00 PM on July 16. Proceeds will support the ǧƵ’s renowned research and educational programs.
