A group of MBL scientists recently at a symposium at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) that focused on developing gene editing approaches for new and emerging aquatic model organisms. The symposium inspired plans to host several UPR undergraduates at the ǧƵ next fall for a 3-day CRISPR workshop.

The ǧƵ scientists presenting at the symposium included Joshua Rosenthal, Carrie Albertin, Karen Echeverri, Zak Swartz, Margherita Perillo and Gjendine Voss. Among them, they are developing cephalopods, axolotls, and sea stars at MBL as model systems for biological discovery.
